The Sad but True Truth
by Melissa on March 28, 2009

There have been rumors flying around about this for a while but we have finally received a bit of a confirmation from Walgreens that this is the case. Walgreens is discontinuing their Easy Saver Rebate Program. There has been no word as to if they are replacing it with something else though some believe it will be replaced with a card similar to CVS’s card. The Register Rewards Program will be staying as far as we have heard.
I just hope they are replacing it instead of just doing away with it. I think it would be in their better interest to get rid of the RR personally as those have had so many problems and they loose money with the paper printing for them every time people get them. But if we loose Walgreens that only leaves us with Rite Aid until the Longs change over to CVS’s. Speaking of That change I have heard that the Longs are putting up CVS coming soon signs so hopefully it will be just around the corner. In the mean time the Walgreens will have their ESR program still intact through April.

What do you think will happen to the program? do you think they will be replacing it with something? Or do you think they are just doing away with it?

I am hoping that they are catching on with CVS. I don’t know if many of you have gotten into CVS but they have an Amazing rewards program with the Extra bucks! I have only been going there for the last month and I have only spent about $15 and saved over 100! They have wonderful checkers who are very helpful and even help you get the deals. There have been times when I bought the wrong thing and my Extra bucks didn’t print and the checker gave me a gift card. They really just want your business. Way different that Walgreens!
