Sometimes We are Forced to Focus

So after hours of contractions… wait no, that isn’t what happened.  I only had an 8 hour start to finish labor this time.  last one was 10 and the one before that was 12 hours.  I hadn’t anticipated it being so short or me progressing so fast.  So I stayed home as long as I could.  bad choice.  When I got to the hospital I was to far along for any pain meds at all.  So I became a pioneer woman!!!  Totally natural birth.  I can’t believe woman used to have 9 or 10 kids back then like this!!!

But she is here and I couldn’t be more happy. I have to say now, that it is something I never want to do again.  I never want to have a medicine free birth.  But I do feel quite good knowing that I got through it.  Kiley arrived at 8:18am about 1 hour after getting to the hospital!  She weighed 7lb 12 oz and was 21 inches long.  We were able to stay in the room for a while and just bond and enjoy each other.  I feel really close to her knowing what we went through.  She is amazing!  She sleeps like a champ and eats even better.  I have forgotten how wonderful little babies like this are and I am reminded daily why she needed to come into our family.  I needed this refocus in my life to what is most important.

I hope to be back on track in the next few days as I start to go back to real life and the hubby goes back to work.  Thanks for hanging in there with me! and here is one more just because it is so cute!
